The water filter cartridge is the most important component of a water filtration system. The filter housing serves as the structure, but the filtration properties depend on the water filter cartridge, which has different filtration capabilities. In principle, there are 2 types of filter operation: filtration where the water must pass through the filter, such as a sediment filter (PP), and filtration where the water mixture reacts with the filtering medium, such as a resin filter. The unit used to measure filtration capability is called a micron. The lower the micron rating, the finer and more effective the filtration.
